Hey there. In case you haven’t heard, there’s a recent security-breaching bug floating around the Internet. It’s called “Heartbleed” and it affects some of your favorite websites (Yahoo, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) Don’t panic!
Though the scope of concern is debatable – contact us for more detailed info on that – you can get started protecting yourself by following these simple steps:
1. Search your inbox and spam folders for the term “heartbleed”
(If you don’t find the term, you’re in the clear... for now.)
2. If you do find it and the compromised website asks you to change your password, do so only by manually typing the site address into your browser. Never click the link in the email.
3. Repeat “Step 1” occasionally for a few weeks.
Now have a drink.
